Photos missing from camera roll on iPhone 15 Pro

I have a new iPhone 15pro 512gb. I took several dozen photos and a few videos Christmas morning. They are not showing up anywhere in my camera roll. I have plenty of room for storage and my IOS is up to date. I thought I was missing photos earlier last week but the eventually showed up. I also noticed that any photo that I save from online doesn’t ever show up. I’ve did a restart and new photos are still not showing up.0

Is there a way to locate these missing photos?

They are not in my deleted and I’m not missing any photos from the recently deleted. These are photos and videos that I took…. When I took the photos. It made a shutter noise and made a small thumbnail as normal. The videos showed the red trimmer at the bottom while recording.

I had a friend who used cellebrite and recovered 3 of the several dozen missing photos and 1 of the videos from Christmas morning. He also recovered well 30 photos that I took that didn’t notice was gone.

Maybe someone at Apple can waste less time on the Apple Music popup ads and more time on basic file structure.
