You can always "unsubscribe" from this thread if you wish:

ie: blue "bell" = subscribed ... you receive emails when there is a reply

or click the bell symbol to unsubscribe:

white bell = unsubscribed ... you receive no emails when there is a reply

System Settings -> General -> About. The name field is editable and you can delete the old name and create a new name for this mac.
