Unable to re-record a voicemail in iPhone anymore

I used to rely on being able to erase a voicemail and re-record it. For some reason, I am no longer able to do this and it is caused me terrible grief! I’m ridiculously awkward at leaving voicemails and always stammer or repeat myself and then realize I need to re-record. The feature was available for so long I had become used to it. Really bummed that this has been eliminated!
