iPhone: 6SE, iOS 18.2, Macbook Pro: OS11.7.10,
Wanted to back up iphone to laptop. Back choices are restricted to restore or earlier backup from 2022 for some reason. Have backed up to iCloud but would like to have option to update iphone info to laptop - is this possible? Will restoring iphone erase current info?

There is no such thing as an iPhone 6SE. If the device has a home button and is running ios 18, it has to be a 2nd or 3rd generation iPhone SE.

Hi and thanks SravanKra. This is not quite what I was hoping to resolve. I would like to backup my phone to my laptop. I am able to connect to the Macbook but am limited to two backup options: 1. restore or 2. a saved backup from 2022. I have no idea what restore would do. Would like to back up the iphone without losing information, is this possible with the options available to me?

OK, iphone model aside, will restoring erase what's on the phone? And if trying to preserve information, is it possibly better to use an old backup as a source?
