iMovie not playing all images on iPad

I have the latest software update in my iPad. I started a new iMovie loading about 20 pictures in a new project. Then I hit the play button and it just shows the first picture and none of the other pictures. Any help would be helpful.

When I add multiple pictures, it will only show the first photo. It will not transition into the new picture in edit mode or just playing it from the project list. When I manually move the play line, it will transition, but when I hit the play button, it will not. I have added different types of transitions, deleted transitions, and it still will only show the first picture. I've never experienced this issue before. Is there something that needs to be updated in the app?
