Homepod mini wrong time zone

My homepod mini has the wrong time zone, every time I ask Siri for the time or weather she's giving me data from mainland China, is there a way to set it up?

I've already turned off the automatic time zone and sat my actual location.

I've reset the homepod many times, even reset my phone, ipad and Mac, and nothing fixes the location.

It’s a ridiculous bug and I’m sure it affects a lot of people, including me. I live right on a time zone boundary and my area agrees on one of the two, which is also the time zone my work and clients go off of, etc.. but Siri insists on using the other one that no one uses. If I tell her to do anything related to time, it will be wrong— like telling her to wake me up at 7am. Great… well due to the time difference she won’t wake me up until 8am, an hour late.

I have tried all you have with no luck either. In most cases on the devices I can just go into the settings and either manually set the time zone or just set the time itself manually. I have to do this on my phone and Apple TV— but the HomePod has no real interface and this certainly isn’t in the options anywhere as it should be. A very obvious problem.

From what I’ve read this has been a major bug since these devices came to market- so they’ve had years to fix this simple little thing— and Apple for some reason not only always has failed to fix it, but from what I’ve seen they won’t even answer the question, acknowledge the issue exists or they’ll try and tell you the most basic stuff that clearly doesn’t work (please power cycle the device… ok please update to the latest iOS). No duh. Can we actually get some real help instead of Tier 1 suggestions that are kind of insulting and never work.

So yeah, I’m there with you. In fact it’s the main reason I just stopped using mine and threw it in the drawer until now. Wanted to see if the 18.2 update may have fixed it. Nope! Still hanging around, totally unaddressed.

One last chance and I’m throwing it back in the junk drawer and I am not buying any of these types of things from Apple in the future if it can’t do something as critical and basic as getting the time correct.
