Potential phishing link clicked on iPhone

I stupidly clicked on a phishing link sent by a friend and started to complete info (just gender & age group) until I came to my senses and realised this was a scam.. could I have had my iPhone hacked ??

Clicking on the link will not cause problems, but filling out the information that the scammers wanted and sending it off might create some issues.


After you clicked on the link and started to type out information....what did you do?

Best to NEVER click on any links in any messages or emails, even if they look legitimate.


For example.....you receive a message that your iCloud account has been hacked and you need act immediately......Do not click on the link. Instead, log on to your Apple account. If there is a problem, you will know immediately.

No.


  1. Remote iPhone hacks are very sophisticated and expensive. Regular individuals are not really the target of these hacks and they are not done through Phishing emails.
  2. Phishing by definition entails you giving up your information freely, not hacking your device.
  3. If you did not provide any sensitive info, like passwords or credit card info you are fine.
