Apple TV 4k gen1 will not update from tvOS12 to tvOS18.

We have 52 ATV's gen1 in our school district that will not update from tvOS12 to tvOS18. We have jumped through all the usual workflows to resolve but nothing is successful. Hotspots, ethernet, wifi, resets, reset and updates and even apple configurator 2 connections for updates are all unsuccessful to get to tvOS18. Might there be a fix in tvOS18.3?

The jump from tvOS 12 to tvOS 18 may be too big without intermediate steps. It would have been better if these units were regularly updated. But that is too late now.

Please contact Apple Support. Users may not be able to fix this themselves. Corporate and edu institutions often have their own Apple Business representative person, if they buy from Apple directly.
