IOS 18.2 deleted pictures reappear and no delete option

Hey team,

I upgraded my iPhone 15 Pro to IOS 18.2 on December 7th, and I noticed hundreds of deleted photos reappeared in my phone with no option to delete. The only thing that I can do is Duplicate and Edit. I do not use iCloud so I do not know how it is possible for this to happen. This should be treated as a critical bug I think, as it essentially causes a large amount of wasted storage on my phone.

I do not want to factory reset my phone because then I will lose all my data.

Thanks!

This doesn't happen as far as I know with iCloud Photos. How did you get these pictures--are these taken on your phone, transferred from a computer, downloaded from internet, or what? I would guess that the intermediary transfer app stored pictures its own cache, and that has survived.
