MacBook Pro 2016 has no MacOS installed and is now showing no signs of life.

I recently uninstalled macOS on my pro 2016. The MacBook died before having it reinstalled and now will not turn on. I have tried every combination or holding keys and power button. I’ve tried many different chargers. It also won’t even turn on while plugged in with battery unplugged. It was working perfectly fine right before this and even had a brand new battery installed few months ago. Any help is appreciated

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

Get Another Battery:

So, who reinstalled the battery? Take it back, and have them fix this issue.

View the Battery's Current Capacity and Other Specs:

  1. Boot: in Recovery Mode (Intel or Silicon)
  2. Go to: Utilities menu
  3. Select: Terminal
  4. Use: this command
ioreg -l| grep -e "CurrentCapacity" -e "MaxCapacity" -e "CycleCount"

Maybe explain what you did to "uninstall" the MacOS. I have not heard of a way to do this. Apple does provide a way to:

  • reinstall the MacOS
  • erase (reformat) the drive and reinstall the MacOS

The situation may depend on what version of MacOS you were using. Which version was it?

Were you experiencing problems before "uninstalling?" It sounds like you were, otherwise why do such a thing? What were those problems you were experiencing?

More info on this problem. I figured out that a smc reset allows me to setup the internet connection. Once that is done I see an apple logo with a progress bar starting at the bottom. After about 30 seconds of this the Mac completely shuts down and has to be reset again. I can’t get the resets to consistently work at all either. The following pictures are the 2 stages before it shuts down.

I erased the drive is what I should’ve said. I honestly don’t know what Mac OS version it is on.

no I wasn’t experiencing any problems at all before erasing everything. I was getting ready to sell it the guy took it and started reinstalling it said it was going fine and then messaged me saying it wouldn’t turn on at all. So I really don’t know if he did anything bad to it.
