Seems like our macbook died and we want to know if there are any steps I can perform to try to get this booted up. I have changed the power chord and confirmed it is not the issue. If there is anyone who has gone through this and has Apple repair the MacBook what turned out to be the issue and how much did it cost?

It serves no purpose to ask. The cost can literally range from zero to the price of a new Mac.
