TP-Link Archer AX73 Router Reboots every 2 Minutes with Apple TV and HomePods

Dear Apple Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am experiencing a recurring issue where connecting my Apple TV and HomePods to my network causes my TP-Link Archer AX73 router to reboot every two minutes. Below are the details of my setup and the troubleshooting steps I have undertaken so far:

Device and Network Information:

  • Router Model: Archer AX73
  • Hardware Version: V2
  • Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20240323 rel.70541(5553)
  • Connected Devices: Apple TV, HomePods, TV, Xbox Series X, iPads, iPhones, laptops, etc.
  • Switch: Linksys SE3005

Issue Description:

After setting up my Archer AX73 router, everything functioned normally while connecting regular wireless devices such as iPads, iPhones, and laptops. However, upon connecting a Linksys SE3005 switch with additional devices including an Apple TV and HomePods, the router began rebooting every two minutes.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Disconnected the Switch: Temporarily stopped the router from rebooting.
  2. Reconnected After 10 Minutes: The router resumed rebooting every two minutes, even without the switch connected.
  3. Suspected Devices: Identified that the issue persists when Apple TV and HomePods are connected, even if the Apple TV is turned off.
  4. Factory Reset HomePods: This action resolved the rebooting issue, suggesting that outdated firmware on the HomePods might be the cause.
  5. Verified Router Firmware: Confirmed that the router is running the latest firmware version (1.1.0 Build 20240323 rel.70541(5553)).
  6. Checked Power Supply: Ensured that the router is connected to a stable power source with no interruptions.

Additional Information:

I discovered a Reddit thread where another user reported a similar issue:

This suggests that the problem might be related to specific configurations or firmware versions of Apple devices interacting with the Archer AX73 router.

Request for Assistance:

  • Compatibility Concerns: Are there known compatibility issues between Apple TV/HomePods and the Archer AX73 router that could cause such frequent reboots?
  • Firmware Updates: Is there a recommended firmware update or configuration change for the router or Apple devices to resolve this issue?
  • Further Troubleshooting: Additional steps or diagnostic measures I can take to identify and fix the root cause of the router reboots when Apple devices are connected.

I am eager to resolve this issue to ensure a stable and reliable network environment for my devices. Any guidance or support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,
