Apple Intelligence without using "Hey Siri"?

This was my first question when I did not opt to turn Siri on, and the Apple intelligence template would not advance. I have never used Siri and have no interest in doing so. I do not use my phone in my car when driving, which is illegal in Australia and attracts demerit points and a large fine. I am a hands-on keyboard user and have zero use for voice commands. cheers.

I have that same question and have been looking for a definitive answer. Any luck so far? I find the Apple Community pretty pro-Apple.

Since Siri is embedded into the heart of Apple Intelligence, it's highly unlikely Siri can be excluded from using Apple Intelligence.

Siri is in the heart of most things Apple Intelligence, so I don't believe you can exclude Siri and expect to have Apple Intelligence function. I can't confirm this, as I rely on Siri to do a lot for me, like make a phone call hands free, using wireless Apple CarPlay in car. Maybe you'll find Siri can benefit your daily routine.
