Apple Maps on MacBook Air Doesn’t Detect My Location

Hello everyone,

I’m using a MacBook Air, and the Apple Maps app is unable to detect my location automatically.

Here’s what I’ve already checked:

• Location Services are enabled in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy.

• Apple Maps is authorized to access my location.

• My Mac is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.

Despite these settings, my location isn’t being detected. I’ve also tried restarting Location Services and updating macOS, but the issue persists.

Has anyone encountered this issue or found a solution?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I also have a similar problem using the Find My app. On my Mac Mini, using the People tab, I can find my friends, but not "Me". Underneath "Me", "locating.." is displayed, forever.

Using the Devices tab, With You and This Mac is displayed for the Mini. If I click on that device, the device icon is displayed on a green background, not on a map. Other devices are displayed properly.

If I use my iPhone to find my Mac Mini, the location is displayed properly, namely, it's at home.

I've spent several hours studying the Apple documentation, and can't find anything I'm doing wrong. This is very puzzling.

I have the exact same problem on my Mac Mini with the latest OS.

If I use the default "My Location" when asking for directions, I see a spinning asterisk and "Loading..." and nothing further happens.

I have to delete "My Location" as the start location and type in my address or type "Home" and select my address. I don't understand why, and will be following this thread.
