Maps for MacOS is not searching for my location.

I recently posted this (unable to find my old posts) and thought I had a solution. However, I restarted my Mac mini yesterday and now Maps again is no longer doing anything when I click on the Location Arrow. Find My does find me but Maps does not. I have again checked Location Services in Privacy and all is correct.

I did open that topic but with weeks of troubleshooting I was never been able to get it to work reliably. Even placing the computer within three feet of the AP, unobstructed by any peripherals, did not improve speeds. Is the WiFi on a brand new Mac mini M2 Pr… - Apple Community

Moreover, this Maps issue only began with MacOS 14.4.

I can confirm though that turning wifi off presents a pop up in Maps saying that wifi is required. This did not appear when location services weren't present.

I'm also noticing a new feature where if you zoom into your location enough it will show "My Location" with my iCloud profile icon. So there's definitely been some "improvements" to Maps.

LOL I had lost the email and was otherwise unable to find it here in this forum which does not keep track of a user's post history. Only yesterday did I learn that you can use an internet search to find Apple forum posts by author. I deleted the speed results and signal maps long ago but, as I said, I had the same issue with the computer sitting near the router unobstructed by any other peripherals. Sure, it was 'better', but not by much.

Even with Wifi off, I can click on the location arrow in Find My to get my location. When the noted issue is present with wifi on, the location arrow in Maps does nothing. Seems like a bug in the software to me.
