I'm able to add and play ALAC loseless format in Apple Music on my Win 11 PC, but not all of them sync loseless format to my iphone 15

Those are my old CD song and I ripper to ALAC format and store my PC as CAS, after add those ALAC format with at least size twenty plus MB, it can play under Apple Music on my Win 11 PC, showing loseless logo while playing.

But when it sync to my iPhone 15 device, some of them will become AAC format but not all of them, I try to remove download from my iPhone 15 and re-download from Apple Music, it still download AAC format when I go to Apple Music setting to find out what song size, because when I play it thru iPhone 15 Apple Music it doesn't have loseless logo.

Hi,

Have the tracks been uploaded or matched. Upload tracks will have been transcribed to 256 Kbps whereas match tracks will be available in the format that is currently available in Apple Music. This could be AAC, Lossless or hi-def. Unfortunately, there are still some track that are only available as AAC.

Thank you for your support.

My problem is, I have some track with lossless format that Apple Music don’t have, and I found some of them able to sync to my iPhone with lossless format, but the other no matter how many times I try, it can play with lossless format on my PC Apple Music but it’s AAC format on my iPhone after sync.

And yes it show uploaded on cloud status but not matched.

Hi,

If an ALAC track is uploaded, it will be transcribed as 256 Kbps AAC on other devices. Be aware that if you remove download on your computer, the track will be downloadable as 256 Kbps AAC.

Note also that matched track may not be available as lossless and the matched version will play as AAC on your other devices.
