Sync music from Mac to iPhone

I downloaded an album to my computer from a CD and it added to my Music. The I check my iPad and iPhone12 it doesn't appear. I found the album downloaded as a .m4a file which I changed to MP4 just in case - restarted my phone and it still doesn't appear. It plays ok on my Mac.

An album I downloaded form Apple on my iPad appears across all my devices without issue.

Checked all the settings and can't see anything turned off that would stop the devices synching.

Thanks

Syncing Music Through iCloud:

Sign in to the same Apple ID on the Mac and on the iPhone, and then enable Music in iCloud Settings on both. Being synced, as a result, Music will be accessible between both both devices. Note that If you that thousands of file, it may take some time.

Enable Photos on iPhone:

  1. Click: Settings
  2. Tap: your Name (top item)
  3. Tap: iCloud
  4. Tap: Music (so that it is green)

Enable Photos on Mac:

  1. Go to: System Preferences
  2. Click: Apple ID (on top-right)
  3. Select: Music (by giving it a check mark)
