iOS 12 Unable to log-in to my Apple Account "Failed to verify your identity. Try again."

When I try to log in with my Apple account, I get the error "Failed to verify your identity. Try again."

My device specifications are as follows:

iPhone Xs Max

iOS 12.4

When I visit the Apple website using the Safari app, it loads abnormally. Has Apple abandoned devices for which iOS 12 is the last supported version (iPhone 6, 5s, etc.)?

If you have an iPhone XS, why don't you update iOS? It can run the newest.

I don't think iOS 12 is behind this issue. If that was the case I'd expect to see hundreds of posts per day to this forum about it, not just your isolated one.

To me it looks like you haven't filled in the email/phone number field in the sign in screen.
