Garageband hard pan bleed

I'm creating backing tracks in Garageband, with a click track panned hard left and everything I want the audience to hear panned hard right.

I'm hearing each bleed into the other side; the audience is hearing click, when they should only by hearing the right-channel stuff.

I have turned off all effects on the click track and on the Master track.

This is happening when I play back from garageband directly but also when I export an mp3.

As I search the problem, I see a ton of similar questions over the last ten years; I can't believe this hasn't been fixed.
