Apple watch battery draining really quickly after last update

After the recent update this week, my Apple Watch battery is draining really fast. Used to last all day and now is done by about 2pm, sometimes earlier

I was told that a number of people are having the same issue since the last update, based on which Apple Watch you have. Clearly whatever they did with that update is causing the battery to drain at rapid speed and all the tricks and ideas of fixing it manually are not working.

If the battery drains too fast after an update, see all the replies to:

FWIW, in some cases, unpairing the watch, completely erasing it, then pairing and restoring the backup will resolve the battery draining issue after an update. (Simply unpairing and pairing again may not work.)

Also, some people have found that simply waiting a few days after an update resolves the battery draining problem.
