facetime remote control isnt working

Me and my friend wanted to try the new remote control feature. His phone is updated and running on IOS 18.1 and mine is on IOS 18.0, but neither of us have the actual remote control button.

It used to work on 18.0, 18.1 upgrade broke it

After changing system language during remote control, the video of the shared screen became frozen and zoomed in so I started a new FaceTime call session. This time I noticed that the request remote control option was no longer present and only the zoom in option was. Remotely connection through FaceTime Need to know is it safe to give remote control over my iPhone and the other side can use my data , send messages ..etc and for this sharing and remote controling could it be permanent by any means or it ended by closing the FaceTime call ?

Facetime missing ios17 on apple tv 4k I have an appleTV 4k second generation, I updated to ios17. The facetime icon is missing also my iphone 12 max pro does not show the find my remote tool. Help!
