Macbook Pro running Big Sur (11.7.10). Downloaded GarageBand 10.4.6 which is supposed to be compatible. The app just hangs. After force quit, there's a notice of a "Registry Error". I see identical but old complaints in the discussions, but haven't found a solution here. Help!

Turns out GB will run if I say "OK" to the notice about the "registry error" that is hidden behind the frozen splash page. It then opens up the most recent project. I have to do this every time I open GB.
Where did you get your version of GB?

I downloaded GB from the Apple app store. It hangs up immediately upon launching. I only see the splash page, no more.
Did you try to restart in Safe Mode?
You can try to re-install GB:
Drag it to the trash and then go back to the app store and re-install it.
