tvOS 18 no longer supports HDMI-CEC

After upgrading to tvOS 18, Apple TV fails to support HDMI-CEC.

I wish I could downgrade back to the last version of tvOS 17 because if I don't have my TV Remote control nearby I can no longer watch Apple TV, however all other devices connected (e.g. disc player) work perfectly.

A factory reset of the TV fails to resolve this issue & same does with Apple TV.

Anyone else experiencing this & has anyone found a resolution to this issue?

Mine is not working as of yesterday. Maybe related? I don’t have your level of expertise .

All I can report is that tvOS 18 fully supports HDMI-CEC on my Denon AVR and Sony TV. It works as it always has, no issues. My advice would be to toggle (off/on) the feature on the devices you are expecting to be controlled, restart them and try again.

You should also try removing power from your Apple TV (unplug it), wait five minutes, plug it back in.
