update iOS 18 made Merlin bird app malfunction

After the update was done on my iPhone 14, my Merlin bird ID app (that I use everyday!) no lingering will record birdsongs showing a spectrogram. Is anyone else having this problem? I uninstalled the app. I reinstalled the app-no change. 🙄
