IOS 18 and phonak hearing aids bluetooth problem

I am experiencing a problem with my iPhone with IOS 18.0 and my Phonak hearing aids. When Bluetooth pairs my Phonak hearing aids to my iPhone, during telephone calls, the Bluetooth connection starts and stops every few seconds, making hearing my telephone call very difficult.


My audiologist says that Apple and Phonak are both aware of this problem.


Does anyone know if Apple is going to put out a fix for this problem any time soon?

Thanks for your insight Srvanka. I've contacted Phonak through my audiologist provider and the Phonak app. My audiologist called Phonak for solutions. Phonak blames Apple. I've called Apple and AT&T.

My problem is slightly different than the disconnect but equally frustrating. The phone "ding-a-lings" when I end a call and move the volume up and down. (It started w/ an IOS 17. It seems to have improved somewhat in the past days. It used to ding a ling in the middle of a call and when I dialed a call. ) I am up-to-date on the IOS 18.0.1. It also hisses after I hang up or end a podcast. The audiologist did make an adjustment regarding hissing noises, but it is still there.

I didn't have the Bluetooth's disconnecting issue with iPhone IOS 17. It disconnects from my left hearing aid every minute or so, and it stays connected to my right hearing aid. The problem is I cannot understand words with my right ear, so I really cannot understand what the person on the phone is saying. I can understand words with my left ear. I am told that Phonak right ear hearing aid controls both hearing aids. Time for Oticon's.
