Pandora on CarPlay after IOS18

Since the IOS 18 update pandora is having issues on CarPlay. I am unable to select a station using the CarPlay screen but I can start stations on the phone and it then plays on CarPlay and an error message appears in the CarPlay screen but the music continues.

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 18

Apple update broke the reliable CarPlay connection to Pandora. Now the phone has to be unlocked and Pandora started on the phone. Meanwhile other apps don’t have this problem. It causes a distraction while driving.
