After updating Apple Watch 9 to OS 11 my watch displays the date I updated and not the current date until unlocked. I look at my watch quite a bit and it goes locked often and it’s really annoying

I have the same issue and restart as suggested didn’t help.
Interesting that the charge screen (watch is locked, charging) shows correct date, but the locked chronograph face shows me “Oct 4” (date of update) all the time. After unlocking I can also see “Oct 5” for a sec and then it goes to correct date.

I use the Activity Analog, Modular Ultra, and the Photos watch face on my Apple Watch Ultra 2, and they always shows the correct date, when I raise my wrist to turn the display on or switch the display by swiping.
Did you try to force restart your watch after the watchOS 11 upgrade by pressing and holding the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?
Which watch face are you using, and is the Always On Display enabled?
I was hoping it would fix when they did the most recent update to 11os but now my watch when locked shows the new date I updated it also Oct 4th
Thank you for the suggestions. I just tried them and it did not fix my problem. Hard restarting. Even when I change the face when locked it defaults to the date I did the update to OS 11. I think it’s a bug in the new operating system?
