Garageband affects some tracks tempo regardless of "Follow tempo & Pitch" being unchecked

I have never had this problem before. Even if I go track by track to uncheck the box for the "Follow pitch & Tempo" it still affects some of the recorded tracks. It makes no sense to me specially because other recorded tracks are not affected.

GarageBand audio duplicating and repeating after recording is stopped Create new track (opt/cmd/N), record - audio track appears normal as it records, hit spacebar to stop and audio file duplicates itself after the play head. This is a new problem on previously fully functioning project. I can still record but have to select/delete the duplicate files after. Have uninstalled and re-installed GB a few times but this has not resolved the problem. Can anyone help? Thanks. Martin

Can't adjust tempo Have v10.4.10 and sonoma 14.2.1. Garageband performs normally for all other playback functions i've used but I can't adjust the tempo either by dragging the tempo number in the display at top or adjusting the tempo track. I can change the tempo number and adjust the tempo track but it has no impact on the tempo, it continues to play at the original tempo. Doesn't matter what song I have loaded up. thanks for the help.
