Silence Unknown Callers setting stopped working since around Sept 2024 (iPhone 13), It lets nuisance unknown callers ring though. After a new update before I noticed problems..

Slience unknown calls used to work fine.

-The switch for stopping unknown callers is on.

-I don't have a third-party application that would interfere with it, as suggested by a help article.

- I have soft reset the phone.

- I don't have the callers in my contacts (help article).

-I think it happened around the last iPhone update (there was one other issue I had to call in becuase the update stopped me from getting non-apple messages on my computer that was reset to default, my phone is still supported and not a legacy).

I will let people know if the next update fixes it.

I am seeing thousands of posts on it. Worked perfectly on this phone for years, now with ios 18 it no longer works

I don't know about the OP, but I have tried what you suggested. I turned it off, rebooted my iPhone 16 Pro, then turned it back on. Didn't work. Tried rebooting my phone again. Still didn't work. I've actually tried turning it on/off and rebooting a number of different ways. Yet my phone is still ringing with calls that are not in my contacts. Before the update, it was working perfectly (albeit on my iPhone 13 Pro).

Have you tried toggling the switch, as I suggested? And no, I have not seen thousands of posts. I’ve seen 2 in this thread, and 2 “me too’s"

The next update seemed to fix the problem. It is nice not to have those annoying calls anymore. I did toggle the switch.

I generally do the standard things that first-level help suggests, which are online.

The other problem was that my phone messages did not go to my MacPro anymore.

After the level-one Apple person had me completely restart my computer from scratch, I had an error where it would not restart. I was escalated to Apple Help who knew more about the problem. It was that the default on my phone had changed with an update, and he could set settings to turn it back on again.

Try turning it off, then on again. It’s not a problem with the update, it is a problem with your phone. If it was the update you would be seeing thousands of posts about it.

And you do understand that Silence Unknown Callers does not block them completely, instead it sends them directly to voicemail.
