iPhone 16 Pro Max restarts when charging

Hi, guys. Hopefully someone can help me with this issue. I noticed that my new iPhone 16 Pro Max restarts when I recharge. I was supposed to unlock the phone through FaceID but it asks me to enter my password because it has been restarted. It has happened twice today when I plugged in.

iPhone 14 Pro Max occasionally restarts when charging. I got it on launch day and so far its restarted a couple of times on the mag safe charger and once on the lightning cable. I was not using the phone at all but once I took it off the charger it asked me to enter my password due to a restart. Other then that the phone is solid. A few others are seeing this issue over on macrumors. Hopefully its software.

XS Max Crashing and Rebooting when Charging When I was charging my phone it started to reboot by itself. Whenever I plug in my iPhone XS Max to the charger and then leave it, when I come back it asks me for the code instead of using Face ID. This indicates that the phone has actually restarted. It got to a point now that at some point during the charging cycle the phone enters a restart loop and just keeps restarting until I unplug it.

As it’s still in warranty take it to an Apple store. Make an appointment first, using the Apple Support app (from the app store)
