I got it on launch day and so far its restarted a couple of times on the mag safe charger and once on the lightning cable. I was not using the phone at all but once I took it off the charger it asked me to enter my password due to a restart. Other then that the phone is solid. A few others are seeing this issue over on macrumors. Hopefully its software.

We'd first suggest making sure the iPhone is running iOS 16.0.2 (which was released a couple of days ago) to rule this out being a cause: Update your iPhone or iPad.

I have the same problem with the 14 pro. So far I've contacted apple support, gone to the genius bar, and also had the phone replaced. Same issue with the replacement. The phone is running 16.0.2. Also, as a side note, it doesn't want to back up to my mac via lightning port either, either it just quits with "Could not back up the iphone 'iphone 14 pro' because the backup session failed" or the one time it did back up, it told me the backup was corrupt. The analytics data shows multiple kernel panics as well as tons of "jetsam events". I need to know apple is aware of this and working on a fix, and now, or it's getting returned in the 14 day window. This level of quality assurance is unacceptable for something this expensive.
