Apple Pay does not send verification codes in my Mac

I setup the Wallet & Apple Pay with a credit card, but the app did not provide a verification mode. If I "click" on the card, the last four number in the card show, but the verification mode's block is blank (nothing is show); the app tries to verify for a few seconds, but that's is about it (nothing happens. Also, Delete Card button is not active (I can't "click" (choose) to delete the card.

Log out of your Apple Account (formerly Apple ID) on your Mac, restart your computer, and your cards should be removed from your Wallet.

You may also want to remove the cards from Safari’s AutoFill feature and clear the cache on Safari.

>>Add or remove a stored credit card

  1. Go to the Safari app  on your Mac.
  2. Choose Safari > Settings, then click AutoFill.
  3. Select “Credit cards,” click Edit, then follow the onscreen instructions.<<

Autofill credit card info in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

Clear the Cache in Safari In the Safari browser:

  1. Click on the Safari menu in the top left hand corner next to the Apple symbol.
  2. Click on Settings...
  3. A new dialogue box will open.
  4. Click Privacy.
  5. Click on the Manage Website Data button.
  6. To remove any cached data and cookies from your computer, click Remove all.
  7. A new dialogue box will open.

I contacted the bank, and do have an iPhone. But the problems is as follows: If I "click" on the card, the last four numbers in the card show, but the verification mode's box is blank (no verification phone, nor anything else) is shown. The app tries to verify for a few seconds (the clock or time indicator spins), but that's about it.

I assume that there is a step I missed along the way when setting-up my Wallet & Apple Pay. I entered credit card, my name, shipping address, phone number, etc., but there was not a text box for me to enter a verification mode (phone number for voice or text, or email, etc.).

Please accept my apologies.

I erroneously called the Apple Wallet & Apple Pay in my MacBook Pro "an app".

What I meant to say is that I set up the Wallet & Apple Pay in my Mac with my credit card number, name, shipping address, email, and phone number. So if I now click on the credit card shown in the "Wallet & Apple Pay" of my Mac (the same one where I entered above), Wallet & Apple Pay seems to be connecting somewhere for a few seconds, and a flag shows on the screen asking to choose a verification method. However, this flag does not allow me to enter a verification method of any kind. I have never used Apple Wallet & Apple Pay; this is my first time using it, so I am certain that there is a step I missed somewhere. Shouldn't I have to enter a verification method such as a message on my Mac or even my iPhone?

P.S. Right now I am looking at the credit card shown in my Mac's Wallet, and right below the credit card the following is shown: .... (the last four digits) - Verification Needed.

I already called my bank and was told that Apple pay is honored for online and other purchases.

OK, the notification you’re receiving already has the notification picked and they are alerting you that they are sending the code via that method. It could be a text to your iPhone, an email to the address the bank has on file for you or it could be a phone call to the number the bank has on file. It could also be a request you call the bank at a specific phone number.

Please read the notification very carefully and determine which method the bank is using.

Thank you for your help.

I just "clicked" on the card one more time, and after a few seconds the "verification" (?) window that appears on the screen indicates that "Verification Is Not Available." It seems that I haven't chosen a verification method, but I have no idea where I can enter it in Apple Pay.

P.S. I just called the bank once more, and they set it up for me to use my debit card instead of my credit card. I believe that this should tak.e care of the problems I was having. I will see what happens next, anb then return to this thread and update it.

Thank you for your support

This is a replay to my last post above, since I am unable to re-edit it to add the following:

1. My bank already took all the measures needed for me to pay for online purchases using Apple Pay. This was done earlier this morning, but Apple Pay is unable to verify neither my credit card, nor my debit card. It seems that I need to enter-in Apple Pay-a "verification mode," but I am unable to find the place where I should enter the verification method, anywhere in my Mac, including my Wallet & Apple Pay.

a. Is Apple Pay supposed to verify my credit/debit cards at my bank, or perhaps text or email a notice to me?

b. Where in Apple Pay should I enter a Verification Method, and what should It be, email or phone?

2. If I now "click" on the debit card in my Wallet & Apple Pay, this is what happens:

a. The "verification" window shows the card, then the clock or time spins for three or more seconds, and finally a flag appears on the screen indication that "Verification Is Not Available. Try again in a few minutes."

b. While the clock or time icon spins (above), the box where the "Verification Method" should be displayed is blank (nothing showing). All it shows is: "Choose A Verification Method". Then down below there is an option for me to remove the card, but it won't allow me to remove the card, nor to enter a Verification Method. In fact, once I click on the card to "verify," I cannot enter or make any changes to the verification window.

My bank does not have any issues with my debit card, nor Apple Pay. They already setup my debit card so I can make payments through Apple Pay. Regardless, even if I try to remove my debit card from my Wallet, it does not allow me to remove it. The same for my credit card that I also have in my wallet.

I won't receive any notifications in my iPhone, nor the MacBook Pro where I setup my Wallet & Apple Pay. When I "click" on either my credit card or my debit card in my Wallet, the block where I am supposed to "Choose A Verification Method" is blank (no verification method is shown," probably because I have never had a place in the Wallet of my MacBook to enter a "verification method." I entered my name and shipping address, email address, and phone number (iPhone), but nowhere there was a place for me to enter a verification method.

As it is now, the only way I may be able to remove my debit and credit cards from my Wallet & Apple Pay is by removing them from my Apple account.
