Can't find RCS messaging option on my iPhone 15 after iOS 18 update

Recently upgraded to ios 18 (with iPhone 15). I was trying to enable RCS messaging but cannot find it in settings. When type rcs in search bar of settings, it shows me one result that sends me to Apps -> Messages, where the switch for RCS should be (above MMS). But it’s not there. I also checked the release notes and rcs update is not region dependent.

Choose other devices for SMS, MMS, or RCS messaging

If you haven’t turned on Messages in iCloud, you can set up your iPhone so that when you send or receive an SMS, MMS, or RCS message, it appears on your other Apple devices.

Note: Availability varies by region and carrier.

  1. Go to Settings  > Apps > Messages.
  2. Tap Text Message Forwarding, then turn on any devices you want to include.

Note: If you’re not using two-factor authentication, you need to enter a six-digit activation code that appears on the other device.

i had RCS messaging enabled and working fine in the early betas of iOS 18 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, then a few later the options dissapeared on my iPhone 15 Pro Max but remained on my iPhone 13 both devices are on the same OS and have been updated with the same carrier version yet my newer iPhone RCS settings doesn't show anymore i don't remenber on which update it dissapeared but its not there anymore. both phone have carriers that support the feature fully so that's a none starter, both phones are Canadian devices and i have never had any issues appart from this with RCS on the 15 Pro Max.

your phone carrier would also need to support RCS.
