AirTag not showing up after iPad Pro updated to IOS 17.6.1

Airtag was working fine until I upgraded my iPad Pro, 11", 3rd generation to iOS 17.6.1.

Now it only reports that it's here, at home, even if I know that it is not here.

I've tested by putting it in the car, and having the car driven elsewhere, away from home.

Example. The AirTag may be at the local grocery store, but it shows as still being home.

I have done the following:

Replaced the battery in the AirTag with a new battery
Reset it by allowing it to chime 5 times as I took battery in and out
Re-paired or "re-connected" the AirTag it to my iPad Pro
The iPad Pro DID see the AirTag when I was re-connecting the two. But, both were in the house, on my home Wifi
I saw the "Connect" screen
It appeared to work

But, it still does not see the AirTag when it is away from the house.

Is there a known issue with iOS update to 17.6.1?

Should I uninstall "Find My" app and reinstall it? If so, will I lost all my configurations?

Anyone have a suggestion on what else I can try?

I just recently added an AirTag for my keys whilst on a lower version and had no trouble. Once updating to 17.6.1 I tried to add a new AirTag for my wallet and it seems to not be getting picked up by my iPhone. Strange really but since you are also having trouble I am curious if it is an issue with the OS.

Yes, I’m also wondering if it’s a problem with the OS. I had the trouble after updating to 17.6.1.

I used to be able to find my Air Tags on my iPad Pro11 and my iPhone XS Max.

The iPad Pro isn’t working at all. It ONLY finds the AirTag when it’s here, at home.

It no longer sees where my car is, and it used to all the time, without fail.

I’ve tested it at shopping malls where there are many iPhones around. No luck.

Same problem with my XS Max iPhone. I also wonder why there are not more comments about this from others.

Do you know if we have to pair the AirTag with all our devices? I just paired it with the iPad
I thought if you are signed into your Apple account on any of your devices, it will see the AirTag.
Do you think we have to pair it with all our devices?
