AUTOMATICALLY PLAY VIDEO FILE ON iMAC LOG IN

MacOS 10.13.6 High Sierra, QuickTime Player 10.4, VLC 3.0.20, IINA 1.3.5

I have an MP4 video I want to play AUTOMATICALLY when I log in on my iMac. However, no matter what I've tried, the player app launches but I STILL have to MANUALLY click on the PLAY button. I've tried adding the MP4 file as a log in item (with a SPECIFIC player app set in the files Get Info) and adding the PLAYER app as a log in item (with the MP$ as a 1 item playlist) but neither worked.

Any ideas?

Add open "QuickTime Player" to this AppleScript...

tell application "QuickTime Player"
    activate
    set thisFile to open POSIX file "/path/to/filename.mp4"
    play thisFile
end tell

Use that as a startup item.
