WhatsApp no longer working with Siri

Whenever I try to send a message using Siri via WhatsApp on my iPhone or watch I get a response saying the recipient hasn't got WhatsApp turned on.

Siri works with iMessage and other apps fine so it can't be Siri, my phone or the watch and I can use WhatsApp fine on the phone if I manually type a message but I need to be able to utilise this function.

Just wondering if anyone else had this particular issue?

Try updating WhatsApp

I had this issue for a couple weeks it was driving me mad.

I literally just updated WhatsApp about 10 minutes ago and it seems to have fixed it

I’m also having this issue. It came from a WhatsApp update about two or three days ago and anticipation of the release of iOS 17.6. I actually installed 17.6 and that did not change the situation. basically when I engage Siri and I say it to send a WhatsApp message to so-and-so….. She tells me that so-and-so does not have WhatsApp. Clearly very different experience than a couple days ago I used to love dictating WhatsApp messages messages in the car.
