We have different apple ID but my son can see my photos on his device. In the beginning he had an ipad with my apple ID but since many years we changed the apple ID to his own. He has his own apple ID and can see the my pictures. I have have tried to figure it out but can't see what to do.

Are these new photos, or only old ones? If you do not properly erase a device before giving it to somebody else, all kinds of remnant stuff can remain on it.

Let me get this correct. The photos you are talking about are only old ones? If yes then those are remnants from when the phone transferred possession and was not erased properly. You do not need to erase the entire phone, just go in and delete your own photos on his account. Or have him do it since it will require access to his account. Even if you erased his phone, that actually would not get rid of your photos since those are in his iCloud storage too. Targeting the photos directly for deletion will remove them from iCloud too. Just make sure they are your photos!
No I don’t and two other family members don’t have access to my pictures. There must have to do that his first iPad had my Apple ID in the beginning
