MacBook Air Wide Resolution not being supported

Hi everyone,

Recently bought a M3 MacBook Air. I cannot seem to connect to my widescreen monitor's native resolution at 2560x1080 and my MacBook only connects at 1920x1080. I understand there has been some solutions here: https://discussions.apple.com/post/question, but the solution does not work here, or rather I cannot edit my system information. Are there any other workarounds?

I'm having the same issue and having been searching endlessly to try to solve. I was issued an M3 Air as a work laptop and cannot use my Dell Ultrawide (which works fine on my personal MBP) with my Air plug and play. I have tried ordering a Displayport to USBC cable instead of using HDMI, still no 2560x1080.

I can't even unlock this resolution using BetterDisplay. Apple claims the Air can support one 6K monitor, or two with the lid closed. Why doesn't it support one ultrawide 4K monitor resolution?

Anyone have a solve for this?
