How can I stop the iPad password prompt on Chrome?

I’m now getting “enter iPad password for Chrome” every time I open Chrome. This has just started and I’ve not changed any settings. Any ideas why this is popping up?

Password App not automatically popping up When passwords were a part of the Settings, when a website or an app asked for a username/password, an autofill line would appear on the keyboard. The new app does not do that. I have to start the password app and copy and paste items one by one (and every time I switch, it has to unlock). On some sites that it works, it is erratic: one out of 4-5 times it functions right. This is getting pretty frustrating. Is there a way to fix it or do we have to wait for the next releases of iOS and iPasOS?

Password prompt quit working When I visit a site for which I have saved a password, a gray pop-up appears at the bottom of my screen so I can click on the password associated with that site. It’s been working for almost over two years, and now it’s not. Yes, I have auto-fill selected in settings and I have restarted the iPad. Nothing helps. What else can I try?

Passwords app is faulty after iPadOS 18.4.1 update Since updating to iOS 18.4.1 on iPad (iPad Pro (11-inch) (3rd generation)) the passwords app is faulty : it only shows the page of a random password - the same each time, and not one that was used these past few days. Safari can still access the data but I cannot. I can edit that password information, but that doesn’t solve the problem. restart iPad didn’t help thanks, [Re-Titled by Moderator]

That’s a question for Chrome support. Have you perhaps installed the iOS 18 beta?
