Apple removed the 3.5mm headphone jack starting with the third-generation iPad Pro, which launched in 2018. Since then, subsequent iPad Pro models have no longer included the headphone jack, relying instead to wireless audio solutions (like AirPods) or connections via USB-C port.
To be more specific:
- iPad Pro 11 inch (2018)
- iPad Pro 12.9 inches (2018)
These are the first iPad models that did not include a headphone jack. Standard (non-Pro) iPad models retained the headphone jack for some time afterward, but the general trend has been to phase it out on other models as well. For example, the fourth-generation iPad Air (2020) and sixth-generation iPad Mini (2021) followed this trend, also removing the headphone jack.
