iPadOS update bricked my iPad Pro (error code 4013)

Last fall, I allowed my iPad Pro to automatically update overnight to the new iPadOS 17 (I believe that was the version that was being installed). When I woke up the next morning, the iPad was stuck in restore mode. I was unable to restore the iPad (used 4 computers, multiple cables, Genius Bar rep also had same results). What else can I do to fix the issue? The only solution proposed by the Apple store was to replace the device for $500. (For example, is there any way to restore the iPad to an older software version?)

Thank you for letting me know it is not possible to go back to previous versions.

Regarding your other point, yes, out of warranty replacement was the only option they offered me. While the Genius Bar rep was friendly, it's extremely disappointing that Apple would not offer any free repair option since their update caused the issue.
