One of the ideal features of whatsapp was the widget that showed who send a message without opening WhatsApp.

Turning ON Previews: You may eneable the message preview in notifications, but this will only show the app icon and the fact that you have a new message. It won't reveal the sender's name at all.

This is not due to iOS 17, Meta removed the widget from their latest update.
