Quick Start Transfer. Software update taking a very long time. I am using Quick Start to move my data from iPhone 8 to iPhone 14. The new iPhone 14 indicated it needed to install new software. The download and preparation completed. Install Now began with the spinning circle. The old phone from which I am transferring says “Waiting for software update”. Can I turn off my old phone during transfer data to a new iPhone and start over? IOS 17.0.2 is taking forever on new phone. Transferring data from old XR to new 13. All went smooth until it came time for new 13 to update to IOS 17.0.2. It has been nearly 2 hours and the new 13 still says installing with no signs of progress. Old XR is waiting for update on 13 to complete before finishing transfers. Can I power both phones down and start over? Or am I being impatient?

Transferring data to my new iphone hangs at "software update" Upgrading from and 11 to a 14 PRO. I have attempted this 3 times, and can't seem to get past my "new" phone requiring a new version .. and then it sits in that state for several hours, before I cancel and start from scratch.

I fixed my issue by connecting my new iPad to my MacBook and then using the laptop to download the update. Obviously only works if you have access to a pc.
