Siri Continues to be Rude - Please Update

When speaking to Siri, it now responds with "uh huh" or "huh" - this is considered EXTREMELY RUDE in the South (and in general, frankly). The response of "Yes mam" or "Yes sir" would be ideal - it shows respect and courtesy; however, going back to the "yes" would be acceptable.

This is an issue that I have seen requested since you made this change - why can no one at apple properly address it? Please remove the rudeness from Siri. If not, my next phone won't be an iPhone. I'm sick of having to correct it and feeling the extreme annoyance that my device is rude to me. It's an easy fix. Please take care of it.

You may think it's rude, but if you call out someone's name and then you don't say anything, they are very likely going to say the very same thing. Siri is doing the same as a person would very likely do.

You can stop this easily. Don't pause after waking Siri.

Samples:

Hey Siri: - followed by pause

Siri: - Uh Huh?

Hey Siri, what is the temperature outside: - No pause at all

The temperature is 78 degrees

It's all in how you interact with Siri. And I highly doubt Apple is going to change anything here. When Siri says Uh Huh, Siri is simply letting you know Siri is waiting for you to ask of her whatever you wanted to ask.

It's very easy to avoid that. Don't pause between, "Hey Siri..." and your question. Just say, "Hey, Siri, what's the weather in Duluth?" Siri will answer and not say something you consider rude.

No one here works for Apple or made the change. And, it's fairly obvious that Apple made the change intentionally. When Siri was first released, the processors on the phones weren't fast enough to both wake and process the query so it was necessary to train people to pause. Now that the processors are faster, so the pause is unnecessary. Perhaps Apple views "uh huh?" as negative reinforcement: the desire to avoid the stimulus will encourage you to stop pausing.

I find it amusing on the rare occasion I here it. Rudeness, after all, is not an absolute. Standards and mores vary.
