Recording with extra sine-like noise + crackling
Whenever I make a new recording it adds a crackling and sine-like noise. The problem gets worse when moving or touching the XLR-cable or the microphone.
Now, here's the thing: It is NOT hardware related. Everything was bought completely NEW in the process of tackling the problem (cable, audio interface, microphone). Especially, after buying a new Neumann TLM 103 I was quite in shock the the problem persisted.
Anyhow, I figured out what it is but do not have a good solution yet. First, when I changed my user profile on my Macbook Air (2020/ M1) the noise in Logic was still there but changed to a more constant interference/ noise.
When I change the DAW to Audacity the problem is gone. So, it must be something software-related. This i what I've tried so far:
- re-installed Logic
- deleted the plists of my user settings
- tried different sample rates
- restarted the process "coreaudiod"
Also, sometimes it happens that Audacity shows an internal PortAudioError (9986) when a new recording is initiated in Audacity and Logic is running at the same time. I then need to close Logic and restart Audacity to be able to make a new recording in Audacity.
Any clues? Thank you!
