Cannot connect to OMV (Open Media Vault) from Macbook - worked once and not since.

Once I had initialised my new M1 Pro, I added a server - pointing to my Raspberry Pi 4 running OMV 66.9.15

When I first added the server, it all seemed fine - I could browse shares, copied files etc.

However, since then, the Macbook refuses to connect to it.

The Pi shows up fine under Networks, and I can click on it - but it eventually times out and I get an error

There was a problem connecting to the server 'PI4 SMB/CIFS'

The server may not exist or is no available at this time....and so on.

The server is call PI4 and the OMV SMB service is set to SMB2.

I also note that a couple of files called .DS_Store and ._.DS_Store were created in the root folder of both the shares I had accessed the 1st time round - with timestamps corresponding to the time of access. These files do not exist in other shares and had not existed prior to my 1st Macbook access...

I even enabled Netbios on the OMV SMB settings- because someone on the OMV forum said it helped them - did not help me.

I can happily access all the shares just fine from my Windows + Android devices and from my son's Ipad running OS17.3

UPDATE: I tried setting OMV to SMB3 - did not help.

And my laptop also updated to Sonoma 14.4.1 - and this has not helped either...

Any ideas please on how to fix this please?

Thank you!
