Group text with 8 people, one wants to be removed. Currently, would have to open another group text without the person. Yet, the messages will not translate over to the new group. Please advice of better yet, write a code to remove from group accessible to the admin of the group!

If everyone in the group is using iMessage (blue) you can remove people. If anyone in the group is using SMS (green) you can't remove people. This is not new. It has been this way for as long as I can remember.
If you start a new group, it will not delete the old one and you can still refer to the messages.
Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

If anyone in the group is using SMS/MMS messaging rather than iMessage it is not possible to add or remove anyone in the group. This is a limitation of the SMS protocol standard, and is outside of Apple’s control.
