Add emoji Kurdistan flag

Hello, I suggest that the Kurdistan flag be added to the emoji keyboard like all other flags and we have history, culture, region and many other things

It will never happen. The Unicode Consortium is no longer accepting any flag requests.

That, and the flags that exist are for countries. Regional flags were never considered, which is why there are no individual state flags for the 50 U.S. states. Only the United States flag is represented.


Kurdistan is a region that sprawls across Turkey, Syria, Iran and others. It is not a country unto itself.



Per the Unicode Consortium:


If the Emoji Subcommittee recommends the addition of a Catalonia flag emoji, then it looks like favoritism unless all the other subdivisions of Spain are added.


That's what you're asking. That a subdivision, that is not a separate country at all, be given leeway that no one else is allowed.

All emojis are made standard by the Unicode Consortium. Apple only adopts the emojis that have been approved by them. If Apple made their own emojis, then they would not be compatible when you sent them to a device from a different manufacturer. You can view this link to propose new emojis and also see which ones have already been proposed. There is a lot to read here about these proposals and also which ones have been rejected.
