Running FCP on my iMac late 2015 5K

Hi there,

I was about to download FCP (10.7) from the App Store but it seems not possible.

First it says under compatibility "Works on this iMac". Then when I click on the downward arrow, it says "requires Mac OS 13.5 or later", however the latest version of Mac OS my iMac can run, according to Apple website (and to my Software update App!), is 10.12.

So i'm confused as to why it says that my iMac is compatible and then it says it is actually not....

Am I missing something ?

Also is there a way to download an older version of FCP (10.6) ?

I really don't want to change my iMac. Its running well with 32G of RAM, 4Go of GPU and a fast SSD.

Would appreciate your help...

Thanks,

Nicolas.

Thanks so much Tom. So if i got that right, all I have to do is find a friend who owns a newer Mac that can runs Mac OS 10.13. Log in with my details to their App Store, download FCP. Then log out and have my friend log back in with on his/her account. Then back on my late 2015 iMac I should then be able to download the latest version of FCP compatible with Mac OS 10.12. Am i right ?
