The Genesis album Duke seems to be missing the first track, “Behind the Lines”… This is an essential track to the album as it sets up the whole experience…
Why is it missing? I find it hard to believe Rhino would hold back one song…

Stu - It was originally released on Atlantic so your guess that something is going on with licensing is likely correct. Have you checked Amazon or other sources?
I know the music industry, but this is a little strange… I found the track on the Genesis platinum collection, which is readily available in Apple Music, so I created a playlist. Seems strange that that’s good, but not the actual album…
@ed2345, I confirmed that Spotify presents the song in both Duke and the Platinum Collection albums. The problem is with Apple Music. It looks to me that Apple does not handle OK when the same song is available in multiple records. I saw that happen on multiple occasions.
Interesting thing: the same song is available through the Platinum Collection, as track 20 of 40. I added only this song from there and edited the metadata to be like it was from the Duke album. The cover art for the album is wrong now (shows the Platinum Collection one). Besides that, I would have this track in common if I wanted to add the Platinum Collection. Anyway, this is a terrible hack, which we shouldn't have to do.
@bgarber I did the same thing… just created a “Duke” playlist and it works, but indeed a hack!

Still missing as of mid July 2024 in UK, as well as from a purchase I made of the album a few years ago! Removed from a playlist I created years ago too. It’s still on YouTube music though.
Did the hack. Thanks for the idea. Of course, there is now a repeat hiccup between "Behind the Lines," track 1, and "Duchess," track 2, bumping the mood and messing up Genesis' intention. Makes you really miss CD's or Vinyl. This whole situation is absurd.
